“Hello friends!

From November 1st to December 1st 2011 we are holding a cover contest to support the release of our new CD/DVD 2-disc set, “In The House Of Dust”!

The rules are as follows:

Anybody may record (audio and/or video) a cover of any song by The Republic Of Wolves or any of our side projects (Tigers On Trains, American Gospel, or The Year Fifteen). Submissions will be accepted through Facebook or e-mail (therepublicofwolves@gmail.com), and can be sent either as a file attachment or a link to a youtube video or audio stream.

At midnight on December 1st, the official release date of “In The House Of Dust”, the contest will officially end and three winners will be chosen by the band. The 3 winners will each receive any single item of their choosing from the Simple Stereo online store (http://simplestereo.storenvy.com/collections/5397-the-republic-of-wolves).

In addition to this, the top 2 entries, as judged by the band, will each receive an original authentic mask used in the “Home” music video.

The Republic of Wolves is a four-piece alternative rock band from Eastern Long Island, consisting of Christian Van Deurs (lead guitar), Gregg Andrew Dellarocca (guitar, keys, vocals), Mason Maggio (guitar, vocals), and Billy Duprey (keys, vocals). The band formed in the summer of 2009 after Gregg worked with Mason and Christian on recording an album for their acoustic project, Tigers on Trains, in his home studio. The three of them began playing together and quickly formed a new project with two of their closest friends, Chris and Billy.
Immediately they began recording demos which quickly received attention on the internet, and in December 2009 they released their first EP, His Old Branches. The EP featured 7 original songs, some of which had been released earlier as demo/acoustic versions. All of the songs were completely recorded in Gregg’s home studio and mixed/mastered by Gregg himself, with the whole band working together on production. The EP has been released digitally on iTunes and Amazon, as well as on the band’s own PayPal store, and physical copies will be available in the coming weeks. They also recorded a new song entitled “Wood/Bricks,” which was exclusive to their 7″ vinyl release of “Cardinals.” Their new album Varuna is out now.
